AstraZeneca second batch registration has started from 23rd May 2021 until 26th May 2021 for senior citizens age 60 and above. Today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that AstraZeneca second opt-in registration will open on 26th May 2021 for those below 60 in 5 states of Malaysia – Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Sarawak.
AstraZeneca Second Round Slots Opens For Public Below 60 On 26th May 2021
Previously, Malaysia received 268,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines. The first AstraZeneca opt-ins in Klang Valley areas shows no serious issues after immunisation commenced on 5th May 2021. Due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases, AstraZeneca second batch registration priority is given to senior citizens age 60 and above. The registration started on 23rd May 2021 in 5 states with the highest daily cases – Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak and Johor.
However, doses that are not taken by senior citizens after 26th May 2021 will be given to those below 60. Do take note that pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are advised to take the Pfizer vaccine instead. The registration for AstraZeneca second-round slots will open on 26th May 2021 at 12 noon for those below 60 in the 5 states with the highest daily cases – Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak and Johor.
