Life is too short to not eat cake – said no one ever, but you know it’s true. As the name suggest, this Batik Indulgence Cake is super self-indulgent when you’re having a slice. It is decadent, rich, and you’ll be going back for slice after slice. Try making it at home with this no-bake recipe so that you can enjoy it whenever you want!

Part 1: Batik Layer

Ingredients:

  • 540g Marie biscuits
  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 200g sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Milo powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup full cream milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla essence

Step 1: Crush 540g Marie biscuits into small pieces.

Step 2: Combine unsalted butter, sweetened condensed milk, Milo powder, cup cocoa powder, full cream milk, salt and vanilla essence into a pot over low heat. Let melt, stir, and mix.

Step 3: Add crushed Marie biscuits into pot and mix well to ensure biscuits are evenly coated.

Step 4: Spread mixture evenly onto a 9×9 inch square pan. Make sure to line pan with parchment paper first. Then, refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Part 2: Cream Cheese Layer

Ingredients:

  • 250g cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp castor sugar
  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 tbsp gelatine powder
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 200ml whipping cream

Step 5: In a tiny bowl, mix 3/4 tbsp gelatine powder with 3 tbsp hot water.

Step 6: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, castor sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla essence, gelatine mixture and mix well (Mixture A).

Step 7: Using a whisk, mix whipping cream until mixture thickens slightly. Then, fold whipping cream mixture into (Mixture A).

Step 8: Pour mixture onto Batik layer and let refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Part 3: Chocolate Ganache Layer

Ingredients:

  • 300g dark cooking chocolate
  • 250g whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Step 9: Using a double boiler method, melt dark cooking chocolate and whipping cream.

Step 10: Then, add butter and vanilla essence. Mix until chocolate becomes melted and glossy.

Step 11: Pour chocolate mixture onto cream cheese layer to form top ganache layer. Using a knife, poke bubbles on the surface of the ganache layer to ensure there are no air bubbles.

Step 12: Then, refrigerate Batik cake overnight and let harden. Enjoy!
