A good bowl of Lei Cha soup is the soul of the whole dish and this aunty, Ah Mei, takes pride in using freshly cooked ingredients to serve her customers. One of her specialities is the Choy Ban Cheong Fan, which is basically Lei Cha ingredients wrapped in Cheong Fan (steamed rice noodle rolls) which you will not easily find at other places.

This restaurant serves more than just Lei Cha. They also serve some authentic Hakka dishes as well. There’s two types of Lei Cha here – vegetarian and non-vegetarian (with added onions). Be sure to ask for your free soup refill if you love the Lei Cha soup!

Although Restoran Xang Kee only opens until 2pm daily, regulars would know that this stall is usually sold out by 12pm! That being said, it’s true that “the early bird catches the worm”. Also, if you are a vegetarian, make sure to place your order without the mini dried shrimps!
