As Malaysians, we all love and show great admiration for our local food scene. From the classic Hokkien Mee all the way to traditional desserts such as Ais Kacang, we can never get enough of them. Additionally, no one can ever resist a bowl of cooling Ais Kacang that instantly melts in your mouth and cool off the heat.
So, if you’re looking for a spot that serves a myriad of dessert options, then make your way to the Kepong morning market and spot May May Ais Kacang. Little did you know, tucked inside of this neighbourhood market is a 40-year-old dessert stall that sells extreme Ais Kacang and a variety of desserts.
First of all, we need to give credit to the appearance of our favourite dessert, Ais Kacang. Normally, we will get a simple bowl of shaved ice with the essential red beans, a scoop of ice cream, a spoon of corn kernels and some syrup to top it all off.
But nowadays, with everyone upgrading their sense of creativity, we can uncover dessert gems everywhere. May May Ais Kacang takes this local favourite dessert to the next level by serving it with an entire ice block. The ice block is then coated perfectly with a layer of thick brown sugar syrup. And to top it all off, the ice block will have overflowing toppings such as corn kernels or red beans.
