Nostalgia Mahsuri draws inspiration from Langkawi’s most famous legend, the tale of the beautiful Princess Mahsuri who is said to have lived in the 17th century and to have come from Siam with her family in search of a better life. When her husband was away, she was wrongfully accused of adultery by the jealous wife of the village chief and sentenced to death, and upon her execution white blood flowed from her body, signifying her innocence. With her dying breath, she cursed Langkawi to seven generations of bad luck. More than seven generations later this tale continues to captivate Langkawi, adding to the rich tapestry of folklore, the blend of cultures, and history. The Nostalgia Mahsuri buffet seeks to capture the essence of Mahsuri’s story through its diverse and flavorful offerings from her native and adopted home.

The team of culinary expert at Langkawi Kitchen meticulously curating a menu that is infused with the vibrant colors and bold flavors of Malay and Thai cuisine. Served in the majestic surrounds of Langkawi Kitchen, the resort’s stunning restaurant boasts panoramic views of the 10-million-year-old rainforest and whose architecture is inspired by the longhouses of Borneo, it is an experience not to be missed.
