From the typical ice kacang and chendul to dragonfruit shaved ice, there’s something for everyone. There’s a variety of fruits to add to your shaved ice, very refreshing, plus you get to enjoy it like a true local. No fancy seatings, no air conditioner, but a true neighbourhood. Probably one of the hidden things to eat in Seri Kembangan known only in the neighborhood, this place sells pretty good hokkien mee, also offering other Chinese fares. Well we’re here to tell you, stick to the hokkien mee will do, the rest might not reach your standard. The fragrant hokkien mee fried with wok hei and generous amount of ingredients has this silky texture. Dark and rich soy sauce adds flavors to it, try it for yourself.

That said, you could lay back and enjoy your quiet time over here at Take a Shot Studio Cafe, a break from the bustling city.

#7 Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant

Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant is known for their famous claypot Lou Shi Fan (silver needle noodle). Cooked in a claypot, the noodle soaks up all the flavors, and the thick consistency of the sauce gives it a fragrant, charred flavor. Their lala, marmite pork ribs are also very notable. They have two sections, one air-conditioned and one open seating. Get there early or make a booking to avoid disappointment especially during the weekend.

Iron House Kopitiam was even featured in TV Show “Ho Chiak.” It has the rustic coffee shop vibe decorated aesthetically like a cafe, with a touch of nostalgia. You get to sample local fares with a better plating and at a better environment. Try out their nasi lemak, pan mee and desserts. We heard their fried chicken is bomb. Menu might be small but definitely enough for you to get a full meal.
