Famous Spanish-Run Restaurant With HUGE Paella In KL (& Golden Oolong Kakigori For Desserts)

Hey Foodies~ We’ve been frequenting LaLaport BBCC a lot these days for the exciting events happening there and of course for our shopping-spree! As foodies, what we do notice is the huge variety of food you can get there! We know you’ll be having a hard time choosing which restaurant to try so this time we have it all planned for you. Let’s try Spanish cuisine and some desserts!

Marta’s Kitchen

Marta’s Kitchen is where you go for authentic Spanish gastronomic delights, most known for their appetising tapas and paellas. All dishes are made with Marta’s home recipes with quality ingredients which bring the best taste of Spanish to diners. The flavours definitely stand out at this restaurant, check out what we tried!

We went with some of Marta’s recommendations:

Gambas al ajilo

The Gambas al ajilo is a Spanish dish of chilli and garlic prawns, pan fried in plenty of extra virgin olive oil. It’s served with spongy bread, best dipped in the olive oil and with the fresh tiger prawns, chilli and garlic spread on top.

Champiñones al ajillo

The pan-fried mushrooms seasoned with garlic and lemon is a refreshing serve! It’s bursting with juiciness and comes with a satisfying lemony taste.

Tosta de anchoas

This Roasted garlic bread with anchovies and red peppers is a must-get. A bite down with the huge fresh anchovies on top screams perfect!

Tortilla de patatas

This omelette is a comfort dish! It’s a classic Spanish omelette with caramelised onions and potatoes inside.

Juicy Iberico Pork Ribs

One thing you will not miss on the menu is this delicious Spanish iberico pork ribs. Marinated in Marta’s homemade BBQ sauce, get ready to bite into lip-smacking extra juicy meat!

Valenciana paella

Fully stacked with giant mussels, prawns and calamari, this is the perfect order if you are looking for a classic Spanish paella.

Jamon ibérico con pan y tomate

Iberian Ham served with bread and tomato, you will want this! The thin Iberian Ham has a unique floral and strong savoury taste that’s perfect to pair with the refreshing tomato and fluffy breads.

Ben Gong’s Tea & Dessert 

Onto our next spot, we just had to stop by this place for a serious dessert time! 

It’s hard to resists when you see this huge banner luring you with their good-looking Kakigori, especially on a hot day! We went in with no second thoughts.

This place specialise in tea recipes from China and they serve a range of unique tea and fruity beverages. We are told that their beverages made with fresh ingredients only!

Here’s what you can get when you visit Ben Gong’s Tea & Desserts at LaLaport:

Biscoff Cheezo & Tea Cube Black

The Biscoff Cheezo is a special one, it has a thick and creamy peanut butter flavour! On the other hand, the Tea Cube Black is a classic order served with their house-special chewy jelly cube toppings.

Peach Oolong Milk Tea

The Peach Oolong Tea is one that you will order for sure! You will find the fragrance of their tea and the hint of peach flavour blending so well together.

Grape Yogurt & Strawberry Cheezo

These pretty fruit series are great options if you are looking for a refreshing options to quench your thirst! Remember to shake them to get all the flavours mixed first for the best taste!

Moving on to the much-anticipated Kakigori, we tried 2 of their best flavours:

Gold Oolong Kakigori

Matcha Kakigori

Look at the generous amount of toppings! The Kakigori at Ben Gong’s Tea & Desserts are made with flavour-infused ice. Each scoop you get has an even taste and the thick flavour remains even if the ice melts a little!
