Nestled away in Sunway Nexis is Balut Nasi Lemak, one of the latest cafés to have opened its doors this year. The owners rebranded Feebay.Co café into this local-favourites spot after receiving an influx of nasi lemak orders during the MCO! In doing so, they aimed to give new life to our national dish by creating various kinds of sambal alongside appetising sides.

Albeit different, Balut’s nasi lemak stays true to the quintessential goodness of a classic nasi lemak. On top of usual ingredients, this set also consists of fragrant jati and jasmine rice, fried gourd and fried potatoes along with two free choices of sambal!

Balut Nasi Lemak Sambal

Klate– sweet sambal made with gula melaka

Balut– signature homeblend sambal

T’ganu– East Coast style sambal with fish bits

Arwah– Spicy sambal cooked with extra heat from chilli paste & dried chilli (Warning)

Hot tip: be sure to pair your dish with a delicious latte or flat white too!

There are several side dishes available to elevate your nasi lemak such as their Ayam Goreng Berempah, Sotong Goreng and more!

Char Kuey Teow

In addition to their signature nasi lemak, this dish was a personal favourite. It managed to hit every mandatory note in a hot plate of wok-charred noodles with cockles, fishcakes, chicken pieces and more! The secret? Balut’s chef uses his own homemade fermented kicap. Now that’s not something you see everyday.

If you’re a fan of lontong, then this would satiate your appetite. It’s a sweeter version of your standard lontong, yet hearty and flavourful! It contains turmeric santan gravy, soohoon, dried tauhu and shrimps, candlenut with their signature sambal and tempeh on the side.

Furthermore, they serve specialty coffee that are roasted by Feebay.Co. One of their baristas was also a competitor in the recent Malaysian Barista Championship 2022, making it to the top 10! Their coffees are an aromatic house blend of Latin American beans, with a variety such as Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino, Americano and a few more of their house specials.
