Ingredients for the batter:
1 cup of rice flour, 1/2 cup of tapioca flour, 1 and a half cup of water*
What you need: Wok, baking pan(or any metal plate/pan) and vegetable oil
Step 1: Prepare the wok for steaming. Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the batter properly. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
Step 2: Grease the baking pan with vegetable oil.
Step 3: Pour in a bit of the batter mix into the pan just so that it covers the entire pan. Use a ladle to evenly spread it to make sure there’re no holes.
Step 4: Steam it for 7-10 minutes.
Step 5: Let it cool for a bit before lightly greasing the kuey teow with vegetable oil. Then you can take it out of the pan and continue steps 4 & 5 till you’re out of batter.
Step 6: Make sure you grease your knife with vegetable oil before you cut into the kuey teow. Then, just proceed to cut to your desired thickness and you’re done!
*Add more water if you find the noodles thicker than your liking
