1. Ten Hup Chee Cheong Fun 天合香港猪肠粉

We all have our staple breakfast growing up and one of them is definitely Chee Cheong Fun. This stall has been operating for over 30 years and there’s no sign of stopping. Ten Hup Hong Kong style Chee Cheong Fun has patrons flocking in from all over the Kajang. You can choose from either char siew or prawn fillings; or have the best of both world and go for the mixed fillings. Each plate of silky smooth rice noodle is topped off with fried onion, then paired with fragrant shrimp paste sambal.

2. Lek Kii Restaurant 叻记烧腊

Just across the road from Ten Hup Chee Cheong Fun, another gem specialising in roasted pork can be found. As you may have guessed, Lek Kii is famous for their amazingly roasted char siew and crispy siew yok. Their tender and juicy meat drizzled in roasted black sweet sauce is a match made in heaven. Their other signature dish that you must try here is the sesame roasted chicken. The succulent roasted chicken meat is topped off with an abundance of sesame seeds, giving it more crunch to each bite.

3. Hung Kee Pan Mee 雄记板面

For those with constant supper cravings, Hung Kee is the perfect spot for you. Open till midnight, this home-based restaurant serves up all your fried guilty pleasures. From fried chicken to fried wanton, pair them with sweet and spicy dipping sauce or eat them with noodles. Whatever floats your boat. Many patrons also go for their curry mee as well. You’ll find a generous amount of cockles, tofu and fish cakes – all soaked in thick flavourful curry broth.

Side note: Do expect to have long waiting hours of up to 45 mins during peak hours.

4. Wong Kee 黄记烧肠

With no indication of a signboard, Wong Kee is well-known among the locals for its braised dishes. Using a 50-year-old recipe, you can only get one of the most authentic and traditional teochew-styled braised delicacies here. Cooked in large metal pots, pick from a selection of braised pork innards and pork meat to go with your choice noodles. Besides that, the broth is not to be missed as well, making the noodles even richer and more flavoursome!

5. Hong Kong Spicy Soup 香港辣汤

If you often visit Kajang, you’ll know that there’s a street fully lined up with spicy soup restaurants. Amongst the more well-known ones, lies a smaller shop that also sells delicious spicy soup. Hong Kong Spicy Soup may be lesser known but it is still jam-packed with people during peak hours, especially with its limited seats.

Nevertheless, their signature is definitely the spicy soup (lat thong) that packs a punch with its peppery base. Besides that, you should definitely order their fah tiew chicken where braised chicken meat is cooked with Chinese rice wine. The aroma of the rice wine gives a prominent fragrance to the dish. It’s best paired with rice!

7. Chong Kee ABC & Mee Stall

Dessert lovers out there, you’ll be glad we included this next one! Chong Kee has been around for more than 30 years and the stall is still selling mouth-watering ABCs. Many patrons has been visiting this shop since they were young and still go back for its nostalgic eats. Chong Kee also serves up a mean plate of dried chicken curry mee that will leave you wanting more. A bowl of ABC to cool off the heat from the curry mee is perfect at any given time of day!
