Top 5 New Cafes to Try in Klang Valley This Week

1. Pokok

Bright and contemporary, Pokok is all about that unpretentious vibe, a homey haven for brunch lovers and coffee enthusiasts. Having a very different vibe compared to the typical cafes out there, this cafe also has its own opened air space with its al-fresco scene set up- filled with lovely laid-back decoration and just the right amount of cosiness. No matter you’re looking for a dine-in option, or a place to wind down for a bit, Pokok just turns out a win.

2. Muyoo

The wait is over: Singapore’s famous bakery concept tea house is now opened at Eko Cheras Mall! It’s obvious that Muyoo is a company which truly loves tea- with modern tea bars, they boast over 100 different types of tea variety.

We’re expecting a swarm of hungry Instagrammers to descend, line up & shoot as this place will surely be causing an Insta-stir. We don’t blame them though: every single detail of Muyoo is always on point. Devour fancy pastries and wash them all down with a cup of bubble milk tea or fruit tea of your preference.

3. Catcher In The Rye

Klang Valley’s cafe scene is a diverse beast, and here’s a new one on the list. Decked out in an easy-going bustle style, Catcher In The Rye is a new neighbourhood cafe tucked in Section 17. The overall ambience is fairly bright, fresh, and pretty much minimalist artsy.

Time seems to slow down here, where the vibes are super chilled, and their ambience is truly relaxing, making it a lovely place to linger and a quiet spot to unwind while clearing some headspace. Other than their comfy ambience, the coffee & desserts they serve would be reasons for you to keep returning to!

4. Kakigori

As the first Japanese Shaved Ice Specialty Store in Malaysia, I believe Kakigori is no stranger to dessert connoisseurs. The good news is they’ll be opening their 4th store in Tropicana Avenue! And what’s the best part? They handcraft their shaved ice flavours with fresh fruits and premium ingredients without any added artificial colourings or flavourings! Experimentalists can opt for their Berry Unicorn, Watermelon or Tiramisu Kakigori.

5. Curee

Cureé is pronounced as “Ka-Ray”, means curry in Japanese. This restaurant surely lives up to its name, as Hokkaido style soup curry is their specialty. But don’t be fooled by the name. They do serve up quality authentic pan-Asian fare, including poke bowls and sashimi delights They’re simple and delicious and smothered in that wonderful savoury sauce. Service is brisk, but that just means you’ll have time for a second portion before lunch is over.
